The Marketing
Audit Scorecard.
Free tool · 10 questions · about 3 minutes · no email required
Ten questions that find the expensive problems in a small business's marketing, in the order I work through them with clients.
You get a score out of thirty and, more usefully, a fix list ordered by what each problem typically costs multiplied by how fast it is to fix. Your answers stay in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere and nothing is stored.
How the order is decided
Score is the least useful part.
A list of ten problems is not a plan. Every answer carries two weights: how much that problem typically costs a business, and how quickly it can be fixed. Your fix list is sorted by those multiplied together, so the first item is the best use of your next afternoon rather than simply your worst answer.
Why these ten
They are where the money actually leaks.
Not the things businesses worry about, which tend to be visible and cosmetic. Tracking that quietly reports nothing, enquiries that get a reply on Tuesday, a homepage that never says who it is for. These are unglamorous and they cost more than any campaign.
Common questions
How long does the scorecard take?
About three minutes. Ten questions, one screen each, and nothing is asked that you need to look up first.
Do I have to give you my email?
No. Nothing is gated and no email is required. Your answers stay in your browser and are not sent anywhere.
How is the score calculated?
Each of the ten questions scores up to three points, for thirty in total. The fix list is not ordered by score though. It is ordered by how much each item typically costs a business multiplied by how quickly it can be fixed, so the first thing on your list is the best use of your next afternoon.
What if I score badly?
Most businesses do on their first run, and the low scores are usually in measurement and follow-up rather than in anything visible. That is good news, because those are the cheap ones to fix.
Where to start
Not sure which of these is costing you the most?
I'll look at your website, your social presence and how you show up in local search, and tell you plainly which one is the problem. Written findings in five business days. All I need is your website address.
